Visward (“we”, “us”) is an independent tool that helps Canadian applicants prepare for the UK Youth Mobility Scheme. We are not affiliated with the UK government.

When you use the passport check, we collect: your given name(s), surname, nationality, date of birth, passport issue date, and passport expiry date.

We do not store your passport number, and we do not store any passport photo or scan you upload — an uploaded image is processed in memory to read the details on the page and then discarded; it is never written to disk or kept.

To check the passport details you provide against the current Youth Mobility Scheme requirements, and to show you the result. We only collect what these checks actually use.

We process your passport details on the basis of your consent, which you give explicitly before we save anything. You can withdraw that consent at any time by deleting your passport details, which removes them from our systems immediately.

Nobody. As of today, passport detail extraction from an uploaded image is a placeholder that does not send your image anywhere — it runs entirely on our own server. If we later add a third-party service to read uploaded images (for example, a document-processing API), we will name that service here and in the product before it goes live.

Until you delete it, or until your account is deleted. We don’t yet have an automatic retention/expiry period — this should be defined before real users’ data is collected.

You can view, correct, or delete your saved passport details at any time from within the product. If you need help doing that, or have any other request about your data (including access or export), contact us at the email above.

Data is encrypted in transit (HTTPS). We minimise what we collect and never log passport numbers, full request bodies, or images.
